How To Sing The Song With Your Child

Either sitting or standing, face your child and put both hands on each body part as you sing about it. You can decide to use your own body, your child’s, or go back and forth.

You can start slowly and as your child is enjoying it, you can speed it up a bit. In the beginning, your child or children might just enjoy watching you sing and display the body part mentioned but as time goes on, they will join you in the demonstration.

London Bridge is falling done is also known as “My Fair Lady“. It is a traditional nursery rhyme that many of us are familiar with from our childhood that we could sing in our sleep. It is a nursery rhyme dated back to the 18th century in England.

The lyrics of “Mary Had a Little Lamb” were inspired by Mary Sawyer, who lived in Sterling, Massachusetts, in the 1800s. The song was inspired and based on a real-life little lady called Mary Sawyer the author and her lamb.

The song is about a young girl that took a little lamb under her care after the poor thing was rejected by her sheep mother on the family’s farm. After she nursed the lamb to a healthy state, the lamb became Mary’s shadow and, indeed, “everywhere that Mary went, the lamb was sure to go.”
